The ±1% tolerance on Vz means the regulation voltage stays between 26.73 V and 27.27 V across the operating range — tighter than the standard 5% zeners, so it holds the reference rail closer in voltage-clamp or shunt-regulator circuits.

Thermal and leakage boundaries
