27 V zener with tight ±1% regulation
The 1N6010D is a 27 V zener diode from Microchip Technology, rated for 500 mW continuous power dissipation in a DO-35 axial-lead package. The ±1% tolerance on Vz means the regulation voltage stays between 26.73 V and 27.27 V across the operating range — tighter than the standard 5% zeners, so it holds the reference rail closer in voltage-clamp or shunt-regulator circuits.
Thermal and leakage boundaries
Reverse leakage is specified at 100 nA maximum with 21 V reverse bias — this is the off-state current that bleeds through the junction before breakdown; in a high-impedance bias network, that leakage sets the minimum load the zener sees to stay in regulation. Maximum impedance (Zzt) is 70 Ohms at the test current. A higher Zzt means the zener voltage shifts more with changing current — for a 10 mA load swing, expect about 0.7 V of regulation shift.
