Zener regulation at 27 V
The 1N6010A is a 27 V Zener diode from Microchip Technology, rated for 500 mW continuous power dissipation in a DO-35 axial-lead package. The ±10% tolerance on the nominal voltage means the actual Zener voltage at the test current falls between 24.3 V and 29.7 V — a band that matters when the diode sets a reference rail or clamps a supply line. Maximum impedance (Zzt) is 88 Ohms at the Zener test current. The reverse leakage current is specified at 100 nA maximum when the applied voltage is 17 V, well below the breakdown knee — this leakage figure is the one to check in high-impedance bias circuits where the diode sits off the Zener region.

The DO-35 glass package (DO-204AH) is hermetic — no moisture ingress path, which eliminates the popcorn-effect risk during vapour-phase reflow and supports long-term storage in uncontrolled environments. Forward voltage is 1.1 V maximum at 200 mA forward current — a figure to budget when the diode conducts in the forward direction during reverse-polarity events or as a steering diode in a redundant supply rail.
