Active production — 24 V Zener with tight tolerance
The 1N6009D is a 24 V Zener diode from Microchip Technology, rated for 500 mW continuous power dissipation in a DO-35 axial-lead package. The ±1% tolerance on the nominal Zener voltage means the regulation point is held to within 240 mV — tight enough for a precision reference or a clamp that must not drift across the BOM.
The reverse leakage is specified at 100 nA maximum at 18 V reverse bias — that is 75% of the nominal Zener voltage, so the leakage floor is well below the regulation knee. Maximum impedance (Zzt) is 62 Ohms at the test current. This sets the dynamic resistance in the breakdown region — a higher Zzt means the regulation voltage shifts more with current variation, so the bias resistor should be sized to keep the Zener current stable across the load range.
DO-204AH (DO-35) axial-lead glass package, 0.020-inch diameter leads, through-hole mounting. The body is about 4 mm long — standard for a 500 mW Zener. The axial form factor suits point-to-point wiring, prototype boards, or retrofit into existing through-hole footprints.
