Switching speed and signal-level ratings
The 1N4148-1/TR: Rated for 200 mA average rectified current (Io) with a 75 V maximum reverse voltage (Vr), this is a small-signal switching diode built for low-current rectification, clamping, and logic-level steering — not a power rectifier. The 20 ns reverse recovery time (trr) means it can switch at moderate frequencies without excessive stored-charge tail — suitable for flyback snubbing, high-speed logic protection, and signal demodulation up to the low-MHz range.
DO-35 axial package — through-hole integration
Housed in a DO-204AH (DO-35) axial-leaded glass package, the 1N4148-1/TR mounts through-hole with standard 0.100-inch lead spacing — the glass body provides hermetic sealing, making it more robust against moisture ingress than molded epoxy in humid environments. Supplied on Tape & Reel (TR) for automated axial-lead insertion machines, the taped format feeds sequentially into high-throughput assembly lines without manual handling.
Junction temperature range — military-grade extremes
Capacitance is 4 pF at 0 V reverse bias and 1 MHz — this low junction capacitance preserves signal edge rates in high-speed digital lines and keeps the diode from loading RF or fast-switching nodes.
