Polymeric PTC for low-resistance bus protection
The 1206L260SLTHYR is a Littelfuse POLY-FUSE LoRho series polymeric PTC resettable fuse. It holds 2.6 A continuously and trips at 5 A, protecting a 6 V rail from overcurrent faults up to 50 A.
2.6 A hold, 3 mOhm initial resistance
Initial resistance is 3 mOhms minimum, rising to 26 mOhms max after trip. The low Rmin keeps I²R losses under 20 mW at rated hold current, which matters for battery-powered or high-density boards where every milliwatt of self-heating eats into the thermal budget. The 1206 concave package (3.25 mm x 1.65 mm, 0.70 mm thick) is a standard footprint for automated pick-and-place. Surface-mount reflow profile follows the solder paste manufacturer's recommendation for the 3216 metric body. The trip time is 4 seconds at 8 A (roughly 3x Ihold), which is fast enough to protect downstream components from sustained shorts but slow enough to ignore inrush from a 100 µF bypass cap bank.
Active production, cURus and TUV approved
Safety agency approvals include cURus and TUV, covering North American and European equipment standards. No RoHS or REACH statement is in the spec record, but the POLY-FUSE series is typically RoHS-compliant — confirm with the manufacturer for your compliance file.
