Hold current and trip performance for USB and battery protection
The Littelfuse 1206L200PR is a polymeric PTC resettable fuse from the POLY-FUSE 1206L series, rated for a 2 A hold current (Ih) at 6 V maximum. When a fault pushes the current past the 3.5 A trip threshold (It), the device heats up and switches to a high-resistance state in 1.5 seconds typical, limiting the fault current to 100 A max. After the fault clears and power cycles, it resets — no fuse replacement needed. The 18 mOhm initial resistance (Ri min) keeps I²R losses low during normal operation; after tripping, the resistance rises to 80 mOhm max (R1 max) to hold the high-impedance state.
Package and board-fit for 1206 reflow assembly
The concave termination allows visual solder-joint inspection after reflow. The device carries cURus and TUV approvals, confirming compliance with North American and European safety standards for polymeric PTCs.
