Active production — 100 mA hold, 60 V polymeric PTC
The 1206L010/60WR is an active-production Littelfuse POLY-FUSE® 1206L series polymeric PTC resettable fuse. The polymeric PTC material switches from low resistance to a high-impedance state when the fault current pushes the device above its trip threshold. After the fault clears and power cycles, it resets — no replacement needed. That is the whole point of a resettable fuse on a board that stays assembled.
Trip profile and resistance — 1.5 s at 250 mA trip, 1.5 Ω initial
Time to trip is 1.5 s at 250 mA trip current (It). That means a sustained 250 mA overload trips the device in about a second and a half — fast enough to protect downstream traces and connectors from thermal damage, but slow enough to ignore inrush from a decoupling capacitor bank. Initial resistance (Ri) is 1.5 Ω minimum; post-trip resistance (R1) rises to 10 Ω max. Rated for 10 A max fault current — the device can interrupt a short-circuit current up to that level without rupturing. The 60 V max voltage rating covers most common low-voltage DC buses (12 V, 24 V, 48 V telecom) with margin.
1206 SMD footprint and operating range
Surface-mount — reflow-solders onto the same pad pattern as a standard 1206 resistor or capacitor. Tape-and-reel packaging (Cut Tape also available) suits pick-and-place assembly without a feeder change. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. The hold current derates at the high end — at 85°C ambient the 100 mA rating drops, so check the Littelfuse derating curve if the board sits near a hot regulator or in an enclosure with limited airflow.
