1500W Zener TVS for 17.1V rail protection
The 1.5SMC20A: The 19V minimum breakdown voltage means it starts conducting just above the working voltage, and the 27.7V max clamping at 54.9A (10/1000µs waveform) defines the maximum voltage the protected circuitry will see during a surge. This is a unidirectional device (one channel), so it protects a single line against positive-going transients relative to ground.
DO-214AB (SMC) footprint and temp range
Packaged in the standard DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount case, the 1.5SMC20A fits the same footprint as the SMCJ family. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) for high-volume pick-and-place, or Cut Tape (CT) for prototyping and small-batch builds. No power line protection feature is claimed — this is a general-purpose transient suppressor, not a specialized rail clamp for DC power buses.
