1.5 kW bidirectional TVS for high-voltage DC bus clamping
The 1.5KE530CA-B: Its 451 V reverse standoff voltage and 725 V clamping point make it a fit for protecting 400 VDC bus rails or 277 VAC rectified lines against transients, with a 503.5 V minimum breakdown ensuring the avalanche triggers before the bus reaches destructive levels. With a single bidirectional channel, this part clamps both polarities in one DO-201 axial package — saving board space compared to back-to-back unipolar pairs. The 2.1 A peak pulse current at the clamping voltage is the current the device shunts during the transient; the 1.5 kW rating governs the energy it absorbs before the junction temperature exceeds limits.
Through-hole DO-201 with wide temperature margin
Housed in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial-lead package, the 1.5KE530CA-B mounts through-hole and is supplied in bulk tube. The 1.5KE series does not include power-line protection features (no internal foldback or crowbar), so this part is intended for signal-line, DC bus, or low-impedance secondary-side clamping — not for direct mains AC input protection where coordinated overcurrent devices are required.
Active production — sourcing and lifecycle
The DO-201 package is a standard footprint, and the bulk tube packaging suits both prototyping and low-to-medium volume assembly.
