1500 W surge rating and what it protects
The 1.5KE350CA is a 1500 W bidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse's 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on DC power rails or signal lines up to 300 V normal operation.
Clamp voltages and the protection window
Reverse standoff is 300 V — the line voltage it blocks without conducting. Breakdown starts at 332 V minimum, and clamping is 482 V maximum at the 3.2 A peak pulse current. That 150 V window from standoff to clamp gives the downstream circuit a predictable voltage limit during a surge. Single bidirectional channel means the part clamps both polarities — useful on AC signal lines or where the DC bus might reverse during fault. No power line protection feature (the diode itself doesn't filter or condition the line; it just shunts overvoltage).
DO-201 axial package — field-swappable with basic tools
Through-hole DO-201AA (DO-27) axial package — two leads, one body, polarity marked by the cathode band (for the bidirectional version, orientation doesn't matter). A technician can swap it on site with a soldering iron and desoldering wick; no hot-air station needed. The body is large enough to read the marking without magnification.
Littelfuse lists the 1.5KE350CA as Active in production. General purpose application class means it isn't qualified to a specific automotive or aerospace standard — but the wide temperature range and 1500 W rating make it suitable for most industrial, telecom, and power-supply protection roles.
