1500W surge protection for 154V rails
The Littelfuse 1.5KE180A is a 1500W peak pulse power Zener TVS diode in the 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on nominal 154V DC rails. The 1500W rating at 10/1000µs is the industry-standard pulse condition for TVS diodes in this package class — it tells you the device can absorb a 1ms surge of that energy without failing short. For shorter pulses (8/20µs), the peak power capability is higher; the derating curve in the datasheet guides application at elevated temperatures.
Package and board integration
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead through-hole package, the 1.5KE180A mounts directly into a PCB or terminal block with 0.042-inch diameter leads. The through-hole form factor is preferred in power supplies, industrial controls, and automotive modules where the TVS must handle repeated surge events without the thermal limitations of a surface-mount package. The 175°C max junction rating means the device can operate at elevated temperatures without derating the peak pulse power — a key advantage over lower-temperature TVS parts in high-ambient enclosures.
