Hold current, voltage, and fault ceiling
The 0603L200SL-VYR holds 2 A continuously without tripping, and the 6 V max rating means it protects low-voltage rails — USB VBUS, Li-ion battery packs, or 3.3 V/5 V supply lines — where a hard short could otherwise dump tens of amps into the trace. It can interrupt a fault up to 50 A, which covers most low-voltage power sources; the 1 s trip time at 8 A (the trip current) keeps downstream silicon from cooking during a sustained overcurrent.
Resistance budget and series positioning
Initial resistance is 5 mOhms minimum, rising to 40 mOhms max after a trip event — the LoRho (low-resistance) formulation keeps I²R losses under 20 mW at 2 A, so the part doesn't heat the board noticeably during normal operation.
Temperature range and approvals
Carries cURus and TUV approvals, which cover North American and European equipment safety requirements for overcurrent protection components.
