ESR is the selection driver for this TPS-series tantalum
The TPSY107M010R0200: In a 3.3 V rail, the 10 V rating provides a 3× derating margin — standard practice for tantalum reliability — while the 200 mOhm ESR governs how much ripple current the part can absorb before self-heating becomes the limiting factor. For a buck converter output, that ESR translates to roughly 1.1 A ripple current capability at 85 °C before the internal temperature rise exceeds the 125 °C ceiling.
