33 µF at 16 V — the bulk decoupling and filter fit
The TPSW336M016R0140: That footprint is common for mid-value tantalums in power supply outputs and rail decoupling — the low profile helps when board-to-board clearance is tight.
Temperature range and the operating envelope
At 125°C the voltage derating curve applies — the 16 V rating at room temperature drops to roughly 10 V at the upper limit, so a 12 V rail leaves no margin at high temperature. Surface-mount molded construction means the part is self-shielding and handles reflow profiles up to 260°C peak. The molded body resists moisture absorption better than conformal-coated chips, but a 24-hour bake at 125°C before rework is still the safe call if the reel has been open more than 72 hours.
Active production — no last-time-buy pressure
The TPS series is a broad portfolio; if a different capacitance or voltage rating is needed for a BOM revision, the same W-case footprint accepts values from 10 µF to 100 µF at 6.3 V to 25 V without a PCB layout change.
