The 55 mOhm ESR is the number that governs ripple current: lower ESR means the cap can absorb more AC ripple before self-heating pushes it past the 125°C ceiling. The ±10% tolerance is standard for this class — tight enough for most filtering and energy-storage roles, but if you need a precise timing cap you are looking at the wrong part.
