The TPSR225M006R7000: Its 7 Ohm ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) sets the ripple current handling and output noise floor — for a 100 kHz switching regulator output, the ripple voltage from this cap alone is 7 Ohm × the ripple current, so the designer budgets that into the output ripple budget. The 0805 (2012 metric) case fits a standard PCB footprint; the R case code corresponds to a seated height of 1.20 mm, which clears most low-profile enclosures.
Temperature range and operating environment
The molded construction provides mechanical stability and moisture resistance typical of tantalum chip capacitors, suitable for reflow soldering with standard MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) handling. Surface-mount 0805 packaging on tape and reel supports automated pick-and-place assembly for volume production.
