ESR and temperature — the real-world performance limits
The TPSR105K020R6000: ESR is specified at 6 Ohm @ 100 kHz — this is the AC loss term that governs ripple current capability and self-heating in power-conversion or filtering stages. A 6 Ohm ESR at 1 µF means the capacitor's impedance at 100 kHz is dominated by the resistive component, so the ripple voltage across it for a given AC current is predictable. At the high end, capacitance drift and leakage current increase, but the molded construction maintains mechanical stability across the full band.
0805 footprint and board-fit
The manufacturer size code 'R' maps to this case; no special pad geometry or thermal via pattern is required beyond the standard 0805 footprint.
