10 µF at 50 V — derating and application fit
The TPSE106K050H0300: 10 µF capacitance at 50 V rated voltage gives a 10:1 derating margin on a 5 V rail, or roughly 3:1 on a 16 V rail. For solid MnO2 tantalum capacitors, the derating factor is the primary reliability lever — a minimum 50 % voltage derating is standard practice to avoid field failures from surge current. On a switching regulator output, the ripple current through the capacitor multiplied by the ESR produces I²R heating that adds to the ambient temperature. At 125 °C, the 2000-hour endurance rating assumes the part is operated within its maximum ripple current envelope.
Package, footprint, and temperature grade
The footprint is compatible with the standard 7343-31 pad layout used across the TPS series. Surface-mount assembly with tape-and-reel packaging for automated pick-and-place. Full military temperature range from -55 °C to 125 °C, with the 2000-hour endurance rating at the upper limit. The molded construction provides a self-encased body that does not require external conformal coating, simplifying the assembly process.
