The TPSE106K035R0150V: The 150 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz is the ripple-current limiter. For a buck converter output, the ripple current squared times ESR gives the self-heating. At 1 A ripple, dissipation is 150 mW — within the 2000-hour lifetime at 125 °C, but the part runs cooler at typical telecom board temperatures around 85 °C.
2917 (7343 Metric) E case — the footprint
This is the standard industrial tantalum footprint — same pad layout as the AVX TAJ series E case, so a board designed for one accepts the other without a layout change. Operating temperature spans -55 °C to 125 °C, with the 2000-hour lifetime rated at the top end. Below 85 °C the lifetime extends well beyond the datasheet figure — typical failure rate for solid tantalum in that range is below 10 FIT.
