470 µF bulk decoupling for a 4 V rail — what the ESR tells you
The TPSD477M004R0045: That ESR figure is the one that governs ripple current handling and transient response: at 470 µF, 45 mOhm gives a self-resonant frequency around 35 kHz, so it decouples switching noise from a buck converter or POL regulator comfortably below 100 kHz where most ceramic caps have already gone inductive.
D-case 2917 footprint and temperature range
The board layout is compatible with AVX D-case, Kemet D-case, and Vishay 594D series without pad changes. At 125 °C the rated voltage must be derated further per the manufacturer's application note — typically to 2/3 of the 4 V rating for reliable operation at the upper temperature extreme.
