What the 150 mOhm ESR means on your rail
The KYOCERA AVX TPSD476K016R0150 is a 47 µF molded tantalum capacitor in the TPS series, rated at 16 V with a 150 mOhm equivalent series resistance. That ESR figure is the one that governs ripple current handling — at a given ripple current, the power dissipated as heat inside the part is I² × ESR. For a 47 µF cap on a 16 V rail, 150 mOhm means it can handle moderate ripple without cooking itself, but it's not a low-ESR part for high-frequency decoupling; that job goes to a ceramic or polymer cap.
