The TPSD475K050R0500: The 500 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz is the dominant loss term for ripple current — at 4.7 µF and 50 V, the ripple current capability is limited by the ESR self-heating, not the capacitance. The 50 V rating provides headroom for a 24 V or 28 V rail — the standard derating guideline for solid tantalum is 50% of rated voltage, so this part is suitable for rails up to 25 V continuous without risk of field failure from voltage surge.
The molded body provides mechanical stability during reflow and under vibration. The -55°C to 125°C operating range covers industrial and military temperature grades — the capacitance change over temperature is within the ±10% tolerance band across the full range, so no derating for temperature is needed in the BOM calculation.
Available in Tape & Reel (TR) for automated pick-and-place or Cut Tape (CT) for prototype quantities.
