What the 200 mOhm ESR means for your power rail
The TPSD226K025S0200: The 200 mOhm ESR sets the ripple current handling and self-heating for this 22 µF tantalum. In a 25 V rated bulk decoupling role, that ESR keeps the capacitor's internal temperature rise under control at ripple currents typical of a 1–2 A buck converter output. The 2917 (7343 Metric) case size provides the surface area to dissipate that heat into the PCB copper.
Full military temperature range — deployment fit
Rated -55 to 125 °C, this TPS series capacitor operates across the full military temperature band. That means it can sit on a satellite power bus cycling between eclipse and sunlit faces, or in an avionics LRU that sees -40 °C cold soak and +105 °C internal ambient. The molded construction gives it mechanical robustness against vibration and thermal cycling.
