Bulk decoupling with a 300 mOhm ESR ceiling
The TPSD226K020R0300: The 300 mOhm ESR on a 22 µF tantalum sets the self-heating and ripple voltage floor for the power rail it decouples. At typical switching regulator ripple currents, this ESR keeps the capacitor's internal temperature rise below the 125 °C rated limit — meaning the part can sit next to a hot MOSFET or inductor without derating the output capacitance.
In an avionics power supply that sees -40 °C cold soak and 105 °C continuous ambient, the 20 V rating at 125 °C still holds margin above the 12 V rail.
Molded 2917 case with tape-and-reel delivery
The molded 2917 (7343 Metric) package measures 7.30 mm x 4.30 mm with a seated height of 3.10 mm. Supplied on tape and reel or cut tape — standard for pick-and-place assembly. The D case code is the common footprint for 22 µF at 20 V in the TPS family; board layout matches the JEDEC standard 7343 pad geometry.
