150 µF bulk decoupling for harsh environments
The 2917 (7343 Metric) package footprint is standard for this density; the molded case gives consistent mechanical registration during pick-and-place.
85 mOhm ESR and ripple performance
An 85 mOhm ESR keeps ripple voltage low in DC-DC converter output filtering. At a 500 kHz switching frequency with 1 A ripple current, the self-heating stays under 5°C, so the capacitor's lifetime is not thermally limited by the ripple alone. The ±20% tolerance is typical for tantalum electrolytics; the actual capacitance at 10 V bias will sit near the nominal value, but derate for DC bias when sizing hold-up time.
