15 µF, 35 V, 100 mOhm ESR — molded tantalum for tight boards
The molded case gives mechanical protection and resists moisture ingress better than an uncoated chip. 100 mOhm ESR at 35 V keeps ripple heating low in a DC-DC output filter or power-supply decoupling bank. The ±20% tolerance is the standard loose bin.
Active lifecycle — sourcing through independent distribution
The TPS series is a broad molded-tantalum line, so if KYOCERA AVX ever issues a PCN, a same-series alternative (same D-case, same voltage/capacitance) will almost certainly be available.
2917 D-case — footprint and reflow notes
The 2917 (7343 Metric) package measures 7.30 mm x 4.30 mm with a seated height of 3.10 mm max. It is a standard D-case tantalum footprint.
