Why 68 µF at 10 V on a 2312 case
The TPSC686K010T0200: The 200 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz is low enough for a switching regulator output filter — the ripple current rating is implicit in the ESR and case size; a 2312 case with 200 mOhm ESR handles a few hundred mA ripple without overheating.
The part works in avionics black boxes, downhole logging tools, and satellite power supplies where the ambient swings from cold soak to hot bay. Molded case construction gives consistent dimensions for pick-and-place — the 6.00 mm x 3.20 mm footprint with 2.80 mm seated height fits standard 2312 pads; no special reflow profile beyond the standard tantalum ramp-soak-peak.
