15 µF, 10 V, 700 mOhm ESR — the ESR drives the ripple budget
The TPSC156K010T0700: The 700 mOhm maximum ESR at 100 kHz sets the ripple voltage on a 15 µF output cap — at 500 mA ripple current, that is 350 mV pk-pk before the capacitor's own impedance. If your design needs lower ripple, a 300 mOhm ESR tantalum in the same case size cuts that to 150 mV, but the capacitance holds at 15 µF. The 10 V rating gives 20 % derating on a 5 V rail, which is standard practice for tantalum reliability.
The molded case (type Molded) handles the mechanical stress of temperature cycling better than a dipped or conformal-coated part — less chance of the epoxy cracking and letting moisture in.
