4.7 µF, 35 V, 1.5 Ohm ESR — molded tantalum for bulk decoupling
The TPSB475K035H1500 is a molded tantalum capacitor from KYOCERA AVX's TPS series, rated 4.7 µF at 35 V with ±10% tolerance. The 1.5 Ohm ESR at 100 kHz sets the ripple-current capability and self-heating floor — for a 3.3 V rail drawing 500 mA ripple, the I²R loss stays under 0.4 W, well within the package's thermal budget. The 1411 (3528 Metric) case — 3.50 mm x 2.80 mm footprint, 2.10 mm seated height — fits standard 1210 pad layouts.
The TPS series is a long-running KYOCERA AVX molded-tantalum family — no successor or drop-in replacement is needed. For a BOM that already qualifies this part, the supply risk is low: no last-time-buy deadline to watch, no PCN-driven requalification.
Tape-and-reel packaging — store the reels dry
Supplied on tape and reel per EIA-481. Molded tantalums are not moisture-sensitive in the same way as MLCCs, but the reel should be stored in a dry environment below 40°C to keep the solderability of the tin-plated terminations. No bake-out is required before reflow if the reel seal is intact.
