ESR and ripple current — the selection parameter
At 425 mOhm ESR measured at 100 kHz, this part sits in the mid-range for a 33 µF / 10 V tantalum. A lower-ESR sibling (e.g., the TPS series D case) would handle more ripple but takes up more board area. For a 100–500 kHz switching regulator output, the 425 mOhm ESR keeps the output ripple voltage below 15 mV at 100 mA load step — adequate for most logic rails.
