Selecting this tantalum for a 24 V rail filter
The TPME226M035H0060: 35 V rated voltage on a 22 µF molded tantalum gives 46 % headroom above a nominal 24 V bus — enough margin to survive the 28 V transients common in 24 V industrial and avionics supplies without derating to a higher-voltage case size. 60 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz means the capacitor can handle the ripple current from a 500 kHz buck converter without exceeding its internal temperature rise — the self-heating stays under 10 °C at 1.5 A ripple.
