100 µF bulk capacitance at 16 V for power-rail filtering
This is a common value for bulk decoupling on a 12 V or 5 V rail where the derating rule (typically 50% of rated voltage for tantalum) still leaves 8 V headroom — safe for a 5 V rail with margin. For a switching regulator output, the ripple current squared times ESR gives the internal temperature rise — keep that below the 125°C ceiling to avoid derating the lifetime.
