The 2917 (7343 Metric) case, 2.0 mm seated height, and size code Y define the land pattern — the same footprint serves many TAJ-series values, so a last-minute capacitance swap on the BOM often fits without a board spin.
Molded tantalums are moisture-sensitive; a bake before reflow is needed if the reel has been exposed. The part is surface-mount, so hot-air rework is possible, but the 2917 case has enough thermal mass that you want a preheat plate under the board to avoid lifting the pad.
The TAJ series includes many 100 µF / 16 V molded tantalums in different case sizes and ESR grades. A direct pin-compatible alternative would need the same 2917 (7343 Metric) footprint and size code Y; check the KYOCERA AVX TAJ datasheet for other order codes sharing the Y case code.
