Capacitance, voltage, and tolerance — the BOM-fit check
The TAJT475M010RNJ: 4.7 µF at 10 V with ±20% tolerance — the capacitance and voltage rating are the primary BOM-fit parameters.
ESR — what 5 ohm means for ripple and heating
It limits the ripple current to roughly 70 mA RMS before self-heating becomes a concern. In a low-impedance rail (e.g., output of a switching regulator), this cap will run warm; derate voltage or add a parallel low-ESR ceramic if ripple current is significant.
The cap can sit in an avionics bay, a downhole tool, or a satellite power bus without a derating curve for ambient extremes. At 125°C, the leakage current rises, but the capacitance stays within the ±20% tolerance window.
Package and footprint — 1411 (3528 Metric)
Molded case, size code T, measuring 3.50 mm x 2.80 mm with a seated height of 1.20 mm. The land pattern for a 1411 (3528 Metric) / 1210 footprint is standard; the pad geometry in the datasheet should be followed for solder joint reliability.
