The molded case and the tantalum anode construction hold capacitance and leakage across that span — a commercial-grade electrolytic would dry out or shift value.
ESR at 3 Ohm — the loss term that drives your ripple budget
The 3 Ohm ESR is the dominant source of self-heating under ripple current. For a 10 µF part at 10 V, that ESR limits the AC ripple current to roughly 100 mA RMS before the internal temperature rise exceeds the derating curve. If your downstream regulator or DC-DC converter draws more ripple than that, you need a lower-ESR tantalum or a ceramic in parallel.
Package and footprint — 1411 (3528 Metric)
The 1411 (3528 Metric) case measures 3.50 mm x 2.80 mm with a seated height of 1.20 mm. That is the standard TAJ T-size footprint. The land pattern matches the EIA-535-BAAC outline; the anode (+) end is marked with a stripe. Reflow profile follows JEDEC J-STD-020 for a moisture-sensitive level 3 part — bake before reflow if the tape has been exposed to ambient humidity beyond the floor life.
KYOCERA AVX lists this TAJT106M010YNJ as Active.
