0.15 µF at 35 V — the decoupling cap for tight spots
The TAJR154K035RNJ: This is a 0.15 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 35 V in an 0805 case — a common value for bypassing a 24 V rail or filtering a 12 V bus where you need more capacitance than a ceramic but the board real estate is tight. The ±10% tolerance is the standard sweet spot for decoupling and timing circuits; if your BOM calls for ±20% you can still use this, but a ±5% timing cap needs a different order code.
ESR is 24 Ohm — that is the series resistance at 100 kHz typical for a small-case tantalum. For a decoupling cap on a 100 mA rail, the self-heating from ripple current is negligible; for a high-ripple switching regulator output, you want a polymer or low-ESR electrolytic instead.
You can design it into a new board or keep ordering it for an existing BOM without worrying about a forced migration.
