68 µF, 25 V, 900 mOhm ESR — bulk decoupling for a 25 V rail
The 900 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz sets the ripple current ceiling: at 25 V, the self-heating from ripple current is limited by that ESR, so the part is best suited for bulk decoupling or hold-up on a 12 V or 24 V rail where the ripple current stays under a few hundred mA.
This capacitor can sit on a satellite power bus, a downhole instrument board, or an engine-bay ECU that sees 105°C ambient and still has 20°C of margin before the 125°C ceiling. The molded case and surface-mount 2917 footprint (7.30 mm × 4.30 mm, 4.30 mm seated height) mean it reflows with standard lead-free profiles and fits a two-layer board without via-in-pad.
TAJE686K025RNJ carries an Active product status from KYOCERA AVX. Because it is a molded tantalum with a standard 2917 case and ±10% tolerance, it is a direct fit for any existing TAJ-series footprint — no board spin required.
