The TAJE107M020HNJ is a 100 µF, 20 V molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TAJ series, in a 2917 (7343 Metric) package. The 20 V rating gives you a solid derating margin for a 12 V or 5 V rail — tantalum caps need to stay below 80% of rated voltage to avoid field failures, so this part comfortably covers a 12 V bus with headroom. The 400 mOhm ESR is the number to watch for ripple current. At 100 µF, that ESR keeps the self-heating under control in a typical DC-DC output filter or bulk decoupling role. Higher ripple applications will need a lower-ESR polymer or aluminum electrolytic — this is a general-purpose tantalum, not a low-ESR switching-grade part.
The molded case and surface-mount 2917 package hold up through thermal cycling — the key is to keep the voltage derating in check at the hot end.
