The 200 mOhm ESR determines the ripple current rating and self-heating. The D-case (2917 / 7343 Metric) footprint is a common bulk tantalum size — 7.30 mm x 4.30 mm x 3.10 mm seated height. The molded body has no exposed metal on the sides, which reduces the risk of solder bridging during reflow, but the thermal mass is higher than a conformal-coated chip, so the reflow profile needs a longer preheat zone to avoid thermal shock to the tantalum anode.
