The TAJD476M035RNJV: At 47 µF and 35 V rated, this TAJ-series molded tantalum sits in the bulk decoupling sweet spot for 3.3 V and 5 V rails that need headroom against transients — the 35 V rating gives a 7× margin over a 5 V rail, which keeps derating well within the 50 % guideline many avionics and industrial power trees follow. The 900 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz sets the ripple current ceiling: at 35 V, the maximum ripple current is roughly 620 mA RMS before self-heating cuts into the 2000-hour lifetime at 125°C. For a switching regulator output, that ESR also defines the output ripple voltage — a 100 mV ripple target needs the cap to see less than 160 mA RMS ripple current.
