What this molded tantalum cap does on the board
The TAJD476M016RNJ: The 900 mOhm ESR is typical for a MnO2 tantalum in this case size; it limits ripple current to about 400 mA RMS at 85°C, so keep that in mind if the load draws high-frequency pulses. You can hand-solder or rework it in the field with a regular iron; no hot-air station needed.
No voltage derating required at 125°C for the 16 V rating, but the ripple current limit drops with temperature per the datasheet curve.
