Automotive-grade 33 µF tantalum in a 2917 D case
The TAJD336M020TNJV: This is a molded tantalum capacitor from the TAJ series, rated 33 µF at 20 V with ±20% tolerance — a common value for 12 V rail decoupling and hold-up in automotive ECUs. AEC-Q200 qualification means it passed the full automotive stress battery: temperature cycling, moisture resistance, and mechanical shock. Use it in under-hood, cabin, or chassis-domain modules where the ambient can hit 125°C. At 33 µF and 20 V, the ripple current rating is adequate for most low-power automotive rails.
The lifetime spec is 2000 hours at 125°C with rated voltage applied. For a 105°C engine-bay ambient, derate the voltage to 2/3 of rated (13.3 V) to push the life well past 10,000 hours. The -55°C low end means it starts without capacitance loss in cold cranking. The D case (7.30 mm x 4.30 mm x 3.10 mm max) is a standard 2917 footprint — same as the common T491 series. The molded case is polarity-marked with a band on the positive end; the cathode is the larger pad on the bottom.
