Why the 50 V rating matters for your rail
The TAJD335M050RNJ: A 3.3 µF tantalum in a D case rated 50 V is a deliberate choice for rails that see transients above the usual 25 V ceiling. On a 24 V bus with a 48 V surge, this part stays within the 50 % derating guideline — 25 V applied gives 2× margin. The 2 Ohm ESR means ripple current capability is modest, but for bulk decoupling and hold-up energy the voltage headroom is the primary spec.
The molded case gives consistent mechanical dimensions for pick-and-place and reflow, but the wide temp range is the selection driver.
