That 50 V ceiling gives you headroom on a 24 V or 28 V bus, but on a 48 V telecom rail you are running right at the limit — tantalum caps see a derating rule of thumb at 50-60% of rated voltage, so 50 V is tight for a 48 V rail unless you accept the reliability hit. For a 3.3 µF cap on a switching regulator output, the ESR dominates the voltage ripple — do not expect this cap to handle high-frequency ripple from a buck converter running at 500 kHz without significant self-heating.
