Automotive-grade tantalum for harsh environments
ESR and ripple current in switching circuits
With an ESR of 500 mOhm at 100 kHz, this capacitor can handle moderate ripple currents typical of DC-DC converter output filters or point-of-load decoupling. The ESR value is a design parameter for estimating self-heating and output voltage ripple — a lower ESR would be preferred for high-frequency bypass, but 500 mOhm is adequate for bulk storage in automotive power rails.
Housed in the 2917 (7343 Metric) case size, size code D, the capacitor measures 7.30 mm x 4.30 mm with a seated height of 3.10 mm.
