22 µF bulk cap for a 12 V bus — 35 V rating gives headroom
The TAJD226K035RNJV: This is a 22 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 35 V with 900 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz. On a 12 V supply rail, the 35 V rating leaves margin above transients — a 12 V bus can spike to 20 V during hot-plug, and this cap stays within its derating curve. The 900 mOhm ESR limits ripple current heating; at 100 kHz the self-heating is manageable for decoupling a DC-DC converter output.
That 2000-hour figure is the rated lifetime at max temperature — in an engine bay or near a hot power stage, the capacitor will see elevated ambient, and the 125 °C rating means it won't derate prematurely. The molded construction helps with thermal cycling resistance compared to conformal-coated parts.
