22 µF, 20 V, 900 mOhm — bulk decoupling fit
The TAJD226K020RNJ: 22 µF at 20 V with 900 mOhm ESR — this is a general-purpose tantalum for bulk decoupling on a 12 V or 5 V rail where the ripple current stays under the capacitor's rating. The 900 mOhm ESR limits the self-heating at the ripple frequency; for a 100 kHz switcher, the ripple current should be kept below 300 mA RMS to stay within the 125°C derating curve. The 2917 (7343 Metric) case is the standard D-size footprint — same pad layout as the TAJ D case and most competitive D-case tantalums, so a BOM swap with another D-size part is footprint-compatible.

Temperature range and deployment
Rated -55°C to 125°C — the full military temperature band. This capacitor is suited for avionics, satellite power buses, downhole instrumentation, and outdoor telecom where the ambient can swing from a cold soak to a hot engine bay.
