Active production — TAJ series molded tantalum
The TAJD225M050HNJ: This is a standard TAJ-series molded tantalum capacitor, not a NRND or end-of-life part — no last-time-buy clock is ticking. Rated at 2.2 µF capacitance with ±20% tolerance and a 50 V working voltage, it fits power-rail filtering and bulk decoupling applications where the voltage margin above a 12 V or 24 V rail is generous. The 2.5 Ohm ESR at 100 kHz is typical for this case size and voltage class — it limits ripple current handling to roughly 0.5 A RMS at 85°C, so check the ripple budget if the part sits on a switching converter output. The molded case and standard 2917 footprint (7.30 mm x 4.30 mm, 3.10 mm seated height) make it a drop-in replacement for any D-case-size tantalum capacitor on the BOM.
No official successor exists — it is the current production part.
