ESR and temperature — what the 900 mOhm means
The 900 mOhm ESR at 25°C sets the ripple-current ceiling. At 100 kHz, the self-heating from ripple current is I² × ESR; a 1 A ripple dissipates 0.9 W, which at 125°C ambient leaves little margin before the internal temperature exceeds the 125°C limit. For high-ripple designs, derate the ripple current or step to a lower-ESR series.
