The 700 mOhm ESR is the number to watch for ripple current — higher ripple current raises internal temperature, which accelerates capacitor aging. In a 500 mA load step, the voltage droop is roughly I × dt / C, so 100 µF buys about 200 µs of hold-up before the output drops 1 V.

2917 (7343 Metric) — standard tantalum footprint
Board layout reuse is straightforward — the same pad pattern accepts AVX, Kemet, or Vishay equivalents in the same case code. The seated height is 3.10 mm max, which fits standard 1.6 mm PCB thickness with clearance in a 5 mm enclosure.
At 125°C the voltage derating curve applies — the 10 V rated voltage should be derated to 2/3 or 1/2 for reliable operation above 85°C, per standard tantalum practice. The ±20% tolerance is typical for general-purpose tantalum; if tighter capacitance tolerance is needed, look at the TAJ series with ±10% or ±5% options.
